Speaking on The One Show on 25 March, Winkleman revealed that the cast had left even her surprised. She said the line up features standout names and hinted that viewers can expect several major personalities to enter the castle this year.
She also teased the presence of “big dogs” in the new series, a phrase popularised by Joe Marler in the previous season to describe influential contestants such as Stephen Fry and Jonathan Ross.
While the full cast has yet to be officially announced, several well-known celebrities have been linked with the show, and betting markets are already shaping expectations on who could come out on top.
Hugh Grant is the early favourite at 6/4, giving him an implied probability of 40 per cent. The actor’s sharp wit and experience in high-pressure environments could make him a strong contender if he does take part.
Stephen Graham is also high in the market at 15/8, which represents a 34.8 per cent chance. Producers are reportedly keen to secure his involvement, with the actor viewed as a potential standout figure in the castle.
Danny Dyer sits close behind at 2/1, equating to a 33.3 per cent probability. The former EastEnders star has long been on the show’s radar and could bring a direct and unpredictable style to the game.
Other rumoured contestants include Hugh Bonneville at 7/1, Alison Hammond and Liam Gallagher both at 3/1, and Cheryl Tweedy at 5/1. Daisy May Cooper is priced at 6/1, while Steve Pemberton is available at 8/1.
Richard E. Grant and Jason Manford are also said to be in discussions about appearing, adding further depth to a potential line up that blends actors, presenters and musicians.
