West Bromwich Albion are searching for a new manager after parting company with Eric Ramsay following just nine matches in charge.
Ramsay arrived at The Hawthorns in January but failed to secure a single win. His side drew four and lost five of those games, conceding 18 goals along the way. Heavy home defeats to Norwich and Middlesbrough proved costly, while the team managed only five goals during his spell.
The club sit just one point above the Championship relegation zone.
He becomes the third manager to leave in the past 14 months. Carlos Corberan departed for Valencia CF, and Tony Mowbray was dismissed before the end of last season.
With the Baggies fighting to preserve their Championship status, attention has quickly turned to who could take charge next.
James Morrison
Morrison will step in as interim manager for the third time in his coaching career. The former Scotland international made 341 appearances for the club and has a strong bond with supporters.
He first took temporary charge after Mowbray’s exit last April and returned to the dugout again when Ryan Mason left in January. Across three matches as interim boss, he remains unbeaten.
Lee Carsley
Carsley continues to be linked with Championship vacancies after his success with England Under 21s. He has twice guided the Young Lions to European Championship glory and enhanced his reputation as a coach.
The England senior role may be a long-term ambition, though Thomas Tuchel is contracted in that position until 2028. That situation could open the door for Carsley to consider a move into club management sooner than planned.
Will Still
Will Still’s first Championship post did not bring the results he wanted, yet his work in France has kept his name in circulation. West Brom could present an opportunity to steady the club and build towards next season.
The immediate priority would be avoiding relegation. With players such as Aune Selland Heggebo, Daryl Dike, Jayson Molumby and Alex Mowatt expected to remain, there is a core to work with moving forward.
Slaven Bilic
Bilic is another familiar name. He has been without a club since leaving Al-Fateh SC in 2024 and has recently been linked with several roles.
The Croatian guided West Brom to automatic promotion in the 2019 and 2020 Championship campaign. A return to The Hawthorns would be popular among many supporters as the club seek stability during a tense period of the season.
