Next Leeds Utd Manager odds – pressure builds on Farke

Next Leeds Utd Manager odds – pressure builds on Farke

"Leeds, United Kingdom- Circa July, 2020: A low angle picture of Leeds United Football Club stadium at Elland Road in evening."

Daniel Farke’s position as Leeds United manager is reportedly under serious scrutiny after a disastrous run of results left the club hovering just above the Premier League relegation zone.

After guiding Leeds to the Championship title just months ago, Farke’s future is now uncertain following four defeats in the last five games. The Whites have slipped to 16th place, only one point clear of the drop, and face a daunting run of fixtures in the coming weeks.

The former Norwich City boss was already thought to be on thin ice over the summer, and growing unrest among fans and the board has fuelled talk of a possible managerial change. As speculation mounts, several names have emerged as potential successors should Leeds decide to make a move.

Marco Rose 6/4
German tactician Marco Rose is among the leading contenders. Out of work since leaving RB Leipzig in March, Rose boasts a strong managerial résumé that includes successful spells at Borussia Mönchengladbach, Borussia Dortmund, and Salzburg.

During his time in Leipzig, he guided the club to its first major trophy, winning the DFB-Pokal.

Known for his energetic, attacking style, Rose has been linked with several Premier League clubs in recent months.

With a career win rate of 58%, his track record compares favourably with many of his English counterparts. While not yet a household name in England, his appointment could offer Leeds a modern, progressive approach, similar to how Eddie Howe’s early critics were eventually silenced at Newcastle.

Brendan Rodgers 3/1
Another name in the frame is Brendan Rodgers, whose recent exit from Celtic ended a largely successful second spell tarnished by off-field tensions with the club’s hierarchy. Rodgers, who previously managed Swansea City, Liverpool and Leicester City, has extensive Premier League experience and a proven ability to stabilise teams under pressure.

Whether the Northern Irishman would be tempted by a swift return to management remains to be seen, but his pedigree and tactical nous could make him a valuable figure in Leeds’ bid to avoid relegation.

Steven Gerrard 5/1
Former Rangers and Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard is also among the outsiders at 8/1. Gerrard made a flying start to his managerial career in Scotland, leading Rangers to an unbeaten title-winning season with 102 points. However, his move to the Premier League proved more challenging, and he lasted only 40 games at Aston Villa before being replaced by Unai Emery.

A subsequent stint at Saudi side Al-Ettifaq also ended prematurely after a difficult campaign. While Gerrard’s name alone brings star power, his recent record may concern Leeds decision-makers wary of taking another gamble during a relegation fight.

For now, Farke remains in charge but unless results improve swiftly, Leeds could soon be preparing for yet another managerial change at Elland Road.
