Strictly Come Dancing Final: Who is favourite after Sunday’s Elimination?

The final of Strictly Come Dancing 2025 is fast approaching, with just one week to go until a celebrity lifts the Glitterball Trophy as the latest odds are released, writes Dave James.

The hugely popular BBC Saturday night series is nearing its conclusion after 12 weeks of competition packed with standout routines, emotional moments and several surprise exits. Viewers have watched the remaining celebrities battle through themed weeks and high pressure moments as the standard has continued to rise.

Only three couples now remain following the elimination of Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon in last night’s semi final show. Balvinder finished at the bottom of the judges’ leaderboard, making her exit a fair outcome on the night.

She faced Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin in the dance off, despite Davies finishing second on the leaderboard. The judges unanimously saved Amber in the dance off, a decision that has further highlighted the impact of the public vote.

Following the semi final show, it was Karen Carney and Carlos Gu who topped the leaderboard with a combined score of 78 for their two dances. Their performances were widely praised and helped strengthen Carney’s position at the top of the betting.

Latest Strictly Come Dancing 2025 winner odds – Karen Carney and Carlos Gu now favourites

  • Karen Carney and Carlos Gu 4/5
  • George Clarke and Alexis Warr 11/10
  • Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin 16/1

Only three couples now remain following the elimination of Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon in last night’s semi final show. Balvinder finished at the bottom of the judges’ leaderboard, making her exit a fair outcome on the night for punters and Strictly fans.

Dave James comments:

“According to the latest odds, after last night’s elimination show Karen Carney and Carlos Gu are the favourites to win Strictly Come Dancing 2025. The former England football star and her professional partner currently lead the market at 4/5 with Bet365 after wowing the judges with their Waltz to One Moment in Time by Whitney Houston. Karen definitely has the momentum coming into the Final.”

“Who doesn’t like a Charleston? George Clarke and Alexis Warr are second favourites at odds of 11/10 with William Hill. Clarke has been the frontrunner since the show started, but has drifted ever so slightly in the market. He has pipped Karen in the Strictly public vote though after his routine so it could really go either way.”

“Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin remain the outsiders at 16/1. Despite strong judges’ scores, their appearance in the dance off has raised a few eyebrows amongst punters about their level of public support heading into the final and to be honest they will have to really wow the judges to be able to pull off the shock win and take home the Glitterball.”

“So, we now know the three couples who will battle it out in the final. The betting suggests its a two horse race between George and Karen to take home the Glitterball Trophy ahead of the Final next Saturday.”
