The Swans are aiming to respond after defeat at the weekend, when a late goal from Žan Vipotnik proved only a consolation in a 2-1 loss away to Stoke City. That result left Vítor Matos’ side just four points above the relegation zone as they continue to battle a relegation dogfight.

Its been 22 years since these two Welsh sides met and both will be eager to halt a less than impressive period of results. Both sides definitely need to put a run of form together and soon if they are to make any impression on the Championship summit this season.
Wrexham themselves arrive in south Wales also looking for a change in fortunes. Phil Parkinson’s side are without a win in their last five league matches but showed resilience in their most recent outing by scoring late to secure a point against Watford, a result which would have boosted confidence.
Despite Swansea’s recent home wins over Oxford United and Portsmouth, their overall Championship form remains a concern for fans.Alan Sheehan was sacked last month with the club looking for a ‘managerial reset’. Vitor Matos has come in as new Swansea manager from Portugal and managed two wins in his short time at the helm.
The Swans have put in some decent performances in recent weeks but have still lost six of their last eight matches in the division. This Wrexham side has been difficult to beat lately and we could be in for one of those pulsating nil nils.
The visitors have lost just one of their last 11 league fixtures and will travel with confidence, even if their away record has not produced many victories on the road.
Of course, this being a Welsh derby bragging rights on the line, with Cardiff City now languishing in League One.
Parkinson’s team are expected to make the contest physical, but Swansea should be up for it. Clean sheets have been a problem for the Swans, with some out and out disasters at the back so I’d expectg both teams to score in this one.
